It all began with two friends, brought together by a love of horses, wine and the joy of a beautifully set table.

When Susann’s beloved restaurant closed in the wake of the COVID Pandemic, we were heartbroken. But rather than linger in loss, we chose to dream and from that dream Fat Dog Social was born.

Susann has owned and operated multiple restaurants in the Los Angeles area, one of which is The Fat Dog. The first location was in Montrose, the second was in West Hollywood, and the third (the flagship) was in North Hollywood. Susann is genuinely passionate about service, quality, presentation, atmosphere, and happy guests.

Madliene Haim has spent 20 years in hospitality, 12 in wine, but this isn’t just a career move it’s a love letter to everything that’s shaped us. We’re building Fat Dog Social to honor the past, celebrate the present, and create space for joy. The world is craving meaningful gatherings again. We’re ready to serve them, beautifully.
